How Delta Dental Patient Direct Works:

How does Delta Dental Patient Direct work?
Once you have enrolled, simply select a Delta Dental Patient Direct dentist, make an appointment, and present your ID card at the time of treatment. Participating dentists agree to charge enrollees no more than the discounted amounts shown on their Delta Dental Patient Direct fee schedule. Delta Dental Patient Direct is a discount plan, not insurance, so Delta Dental is not involved in the appointment scheduling or payment arrangements.

For what period of time do the discounts apply?
Enrollees are entitled to discounts on specified dental care services for one year, beginning with the date the Delta Dental Patient Direct ID card is received.

How much can I expect to save?
Typical savings on the most common procedures will be between 10% and 30%. On some procedures, the savings are even greater. On more expensive services, such as a crown, the savings on just one procedure could result in a savings of $200 or more.

Are there deductibles, co-pays, benefit waiting periods, pre-existing condition exclusions, plan maximums, or service limits?
No. Deductibles, co-payments, and plan maximums are examples of insurance policy provisions. Delta Dental Patient Direct is a discount plan, not dental insurance. While enrolled, discounted fees apply to specified services from participating providers. Although discounts do not apply to some services, hundreds of dental care procedures are available with discounted fees.

About Delta Dental Patient Direct Discounts:

What dental care procedures are discounted and how do I know what the fees are?
The majority of dental care services and procedures are discounted, including routine cleanings and exams; fillings; and major services such as crowns, bridges, implants, and orthodontic care. Even tooth bleaching procedures are discounted. Refer to the Patient Direct Sample Schedule of Discounted Fees for a list of the costs applicable to the most common dental procedures. Ask your participating Delta Dental Patient Direct dentist for the discounted fee that applies to any procedure specific to your care or not shown on the sample schedule.

After I enroll in Delta Dental Patient Direct, when will I be eligible to receive discounts on dental care services?
As soon as you receive your Delta Dental Patient Direct ID Card! Please allow about two weeks for the processing of your payment and printing of your ID card.

If I am already under treatment with a dentist, may I sign up for Delta Dental Patient Direct?
Yes, but discounts do not apply to any services received prior to enrollment in Delta Dental Patient Direct. Discounts apply only to treatment received from a participating dentist during the time enrolled. To receive discounts on treatment scheduled prior to enrollment, show the dentist your Delta Dental Patient Direct ID card before treatment begins.
